Continuing on V and my love for homemade recipes for everything that we use, I have come up with a list of 10 homemade natural face masks which have worked wonderfully for my skin. While it is an assorted list of face masks, face scrubs and face oils, I hope it is still safe to call it a face mask post 🙂
Without much blah blah, lets start!
Oatmeal Facial Ubtan for dead skin removal – Mix 1 tablespoon of rolled oats with enough curd to for a thick paste. Let it soak for a minute or two. Apply onto a cleansed face evenly and let it semi-dry for 20-25 minutes. Spray rose water, facial tonic mist or plain water on face if the paste doesn’t spread easily. Use wet hands to give 2-3 minutes of scrubbing before completely rinsing off.
Rice flour honey facemask for glowing skin
Mix 1 tablespoon each of rice flour and honey to form a paste. Add 3-5 drops of rose water to make a smooth paste and use a face pack. This pack does wonders to bring out that special glow.

Curd and lemon for tan removal – For ultimate tan removal solution, mix together juice form 1 lemon with 1 tablespoon of curd and apply to a cleansed face. Keep this on for 30 mins and rinse with cold water.
Tomato face pack for skin brightening – Tomato needs no other ingredient to work on our skin. Simply rub a half cut tomato on your face for a minute and let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse normally. Alternatively, you can squeeze out the juice and apply it as a face pack. If you must, add a teaspoon of honey for extra shine.
Honey and Olive oil skin moisturizer – Apply a mixture of honey and olive oil for as long as 45 minutes as part of your night time skin regime and wake up to the softest ever skin in the morning.
Vitamin E oil for skin – As simple as it can be, squeeze the oil from 2 vitamin E capsules and apply all over your face. Keep it on for 30 mins and swipe off with a wet facial wipe. This nourishes the skin and gives it glow and shine.
Chickpea face pack for nourished and healthy skin – Our skincare talk cannot conclude without having chickpea flour in the recipe. Mix half spoon chickpea flour, 1 teaspoon honey, 1 teaspoon aloe vera gel, pinch of turmeric and 1 teaspoon milk. Apply all over a clean face, rinse once dry.

Honey and Brown Sugar facial scrub – Mix the two ingredients together to form a much nourishing natural facial scrub.
Milk powder face mask for d-pigmentation
Mix milk powder with honey and lemon juice to form a smooth paste. Use a face pack to get rid of pigmentation and skin lightening.
Honey Cinnamon for correcting blemishes – Apply this concoction on your blemishes on a regular basis to fade away those visible blemishes.
- In case any of the ingredient seems allergic, please do a patch test on the inside of elbow before applying on face.
- I have normal to dry skin. All of these recipes have worked for me and suit my skin. It might be a different story for someone else.
- I have been using these masks since long and wouldn’t remember the source from where I got to know about them. No offense to anyone who claim these to be their own recipes, I don’t!
