Overnight Oats: A bowl full of health

Posted on August 23, 2017February 15, 2019 by bestiesnotepad

Needless to say, breakfast is THE most important meal of the day..we all know this but what do we actually do about it??!!
This is one question which needs to be answered now, as it is the most important step towards our healthcare and talking about healthcare, oats are a superfood.

You can read about the health benefits of oats here.

Healthy oats breakfast

Oats may sound boring to most of you but believe me, this is one breakfast routine my husband and I have been following for over an year now…Yes! It fulfils all the qualities of a good breakfast – healthy, full of nutrients, tasty and easy to make (most of all!!!!).

So, I plan to share my version of overnight oats which are super healthy, super easy to make (no cooking required) and readily available in the morning (you just take it out of your fridge and EAT!).

Overnight Oats

  • Servings: 1
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print

Ingredients

  • 1/2 bowl Oats
  • Milk
  • 1/2 kiwi(I prefer the sungold one)
  • 1/2 Banana
  • Different kind of berries
  • Honey (acc to taste)
  • Chia seeds
  • Flax seeds

Directions

  1. Fill the bowl with Oats and add milk just sufficient to soak the oats.
  2. Add all the other ingredients (I use 1 teaspoon chia seeds and 1 teaspoon flax seeds).
  3. Mix well.
  4. Cover with a lid and leave it overnight in the fridge.
  5. Take it out in the morning and enjoy.

Tip: Add more milk if it feels too dry.

Remember: All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast – John Gunther

Enjoy!

V|XOXO

I love overnight oats! I wish I could try your recipe but it has banana and kiwi in it. 🙁 even still, I thought the idea of cold oatmeal at first was gross. Then i created my own recipe for it 🙂 You should check it out, I think you might like it! http://www.fooddrinkslife.com/chocolate-overnight-oats/

I like this version specially for the reason that it’s super healthy as it has atleast three different fruits added to it (Study says you should be eating 3 different fruits daily for a healthy lifestyle)
But yeah, will love to try your version of oats too when I get bored of this one..thanks for sharing!

I love easy breakfast ideas, I keep my overnight oats in a maison jar in the fridge and just take it with me in the morning. Super easy, filling and I don’t have to wake up earlier to prepare food.

Overnight oats are amazing! This is a great started recipe. My favourite variation has to be pumpkin pie overnight oats though! Great post.

I have to say, I have never made overnight oats, but your recipe makes it look so easy and delicious. 🙂 What program do you use for your recipe? Thanks!

Sounds nice and easy. Only problem for me is that I like to have something warm in the mornings. Do you suggest microwaving it for a bit?

You can take it out of the fridge and keep out for sometime..to let it come to room temperature.
I haven’t microwaved it, and highly doubt if that will be a good idea!

This recipe looks great. I feel constipated after having oats with flax seeds and chia seeds. I will try this overnight and hope it works.

Oats are a good source of fibre otherwise, maybe you should try some other version then your normal one!
