Indulge in Night Masks

It becomes so difficult in today’s busy life to take care of ourselves while on the other hand it is becoming more and more important to pamper ourselves once in a while to do away with the stress and damage our hectic life and surroundings are doing to us. Night masks are a good option in this case where we can give our skin its much needed nourishment in an effective and no-time manner. For those who haven’t heard of it before, night masks are simply face masks which are applied before going to bed and washed out in the morning. As night time records minimal activity and outside exposure, it is the best time to heal our skin. These masks work all night and God knows, they do wonders to our skin. The reason these masks are used at night and not day is that usually they are heavy textured which is unsuited for a day time wear.

There are numerous products across different brands which have good night masks or sleeping masks so to speak which we can choose from. Some of the ones that I’ve tried would be tulasara wedding masque overnight by Aveda, drops of youth bouncy sleeping mask by The Body Shop, drink up intensive overnight mask by Origins and moisture surge overnight mask by Clinique. Each of these masks have different formula and work differently on our skin but they do make you fall in love with your skin when you wake up in the morning.

When it comes to skin care, V and I have always preferred the so-called desi remedies over the store bought ones. I use one such remedy to prepare a night mask at home with few basic ingredients and it has been the best in all I have used so far. This is an age-old recipe which is probably known to everyone out there as passed on from our grandmas. If you liked the idea of night masks, do give this one a try.

Homemade Night Mask

  •  Vegetable Glycerin
  • Rose Water
  • Lemon Juice

Mix equal quantities of all the three ingredients together to form a translucent solution and ta-daa!! That’s all. Store in a bottle and keep in your bathroom or refrigerator. I prefer using organic products for better results and a spray bottle for easy application.

How to Use

Apply on clean face after cleansing and toning at night. Massage gently into the skin for 30 seconds and wash with plain water in the morning.

Stay happy, stay beautiful!

  3. I love the fact that this mask recipe is all natural and so easy to create. It’s true that we need to care more for our skin, especially as we age, and this looks like great condititioning during the nighttime hours.

  4. Oh I’m a fan of putting mask every night! But I haven’t tried doing DIY mask – thanks for the info, all those ingredients are just around the corner and I will definitely try this.

    1. Apart from myself, I know many people who have tried this mask overnight without any issues. The ingredients are rather safe and non reactive. Although, we do recommend a patch test on inside of elbow before using on face. Hope this helps .
